Jessica is passionate about making food history and culture accessible through compelling storytelling. She recently joined the Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) as a Curatorial Fellow and is excited to further the museum’s mission to illuminate the cultural and historical significance of what we eat.
Jessica is an MA candidate in the Gastronomy & Food Studies program at Boston University (BU), where she has received multiple writing awards for her work analyzing food marketing, cultural narratives, and power structures. In 2024, she presented her research on Black food spaces and community at the AFHVS-ASFS Conference. She holds an undergraduate degree in Media, Culture, and Communications from New York University (NYU).
Jessica also worked as a Senior Trend Strategist at JWT (now Wunderman Thompson), where she generated thought leadership for JWTIntelligence, a five-person internal think tank housed within the multinational marketing communications company. As a Trend Strategist, she identified macro changes in the global zeitgeist and distilled these shifts into actionable recommendations for some of the world’s best-known brands. She also penned numerous consumer and industry trend reports on travel, technology, Millennials, food and sustainability, corporate social responsibility, BRIC markets, and retail. She also completed a two-month independent research project in Shanghai, China, titled Remaking ‘Made in China,’ in which she explored evolving perceptions of Chinese brands in international markets.
Beyond research and writing, Jessica brings extensive project management and operational expertise, having served as second-in-command to the President of a 550-unit multi-property real estate portfolio while driving company-wide process improvements.
Jessica is passionate about fitness (former yoga instructor) and loves running, barre, dance, and pilates. She’s also a New Yorker from the 631 who enjoys traveling and has toured 20-plus countries. While there are many wonderful cities and people across the globe, her Manhattan home base will always be her happy place.
Her writing has been featured in Salon and The Guardian.
